Around 40 animals from Rafah Zoo, Gaza, have been evacuated and transferred to a nature reserve in Jordan.

A fox, a wolf, five lions and a collection of wild cats were amongst the animals being transported into Jordan via Israel.

The animals are seen being sedated and put into crates before their 300km (190 miles) journey on Sunday, April 7.

Gaza's Ministry of Agriculture agreed on Sunday to transfer the animals from Rafah Zoo to Jordan. The original operation planned for late March was rescheduled due to an escalation in hostilities.
