A cute video has emerged of a baby raccoon playing with a cat toy.

The footage, shot last month by a home owner in San Rafael, California, US, shows a baby raccoon playfully catching and biting a ribbon toy for cats.

According to the filmer the wild baby raccoon and its three legged mother came to his backdoor starving and he nursed them back to health. He has since then kept the animals in his house and treats them like pets.

"Every night [the baby raccoon] comes to play. He likes to grab and hang on my bathrobe. He gets excited when he sees me every night when I feed them" the homeowner later wrote online.
