For this strange, seemingly dangerous, small animal, in the east of Serbia, where I recorded it, there is an interesting belief: the girl who touches will marry the most beautiful and richest boy in a city or village. However, a rainbow or a god's cow, like most of her relatives, are totally bey-sized, submissive animals, living under forest waste on the very surface of the earth. In dry weather, it is withdrawn as much as possible into suitable holes or cracks, in the tendency to find the necessary moisture in order to survive in life. Some species live on trees, on epiphytic plants of the Bromeliaceae family or in tropical forests. Some dwarfs live in the water and never leave it. Some species of their entire life live in caves, and therefore are almost or completely blind.
