Gray whales are the mammals that migrate the longest distance in earth to give birth to their calves. They give birth in 3 different bays of Baja California, Mexico; Laguna Ojo de Liebre, San Ignacio and Bahia Magdalena. This bays are the perfect environment to nurse a baby born gray whale.
Gray whales are born with a dark color skin, but after a few days they start getting a gray coloration due to nature conditions like sun, scars and barnacles.
Albinism happens once in a while in the animal kingdom, as we can see in this video a rare albino gray whale visits Baja once every often.
Scientist have already seen albino gray whales in Baja giving them local names like¨sack of salt¨ and ¨milk gallon¨, possible that in this video this whale is one of the mentioned whales.
in February 2019, while an expedition to Puerto Chale, a fisherman community town located at Magdalena Bay , a group of Marine biologist guiding tourist observed this juvenile albino gray whale having a lot of social behavior with other whales. We assume that this friendly whale will be visiting Baja every 2 or 3 years.
