This was the terrifying moment a Liverpool man attempted to smash down his neighbour's door in the middle of the night on Monday (April 8).

Footage caught from through the peephole shows the strange man beating on the apartment door at around 2:30am, scaring the residents inside including a woman and a child. The exact motive remains unclear at this time.

After previous attempts to enter the property by force, the shocked resident called the police, but this was only a temporary deterrent.

The filmer explained to Newsflare: "[The] man tried to enter to my flat by force around 2:30 am.

"The video was made when he came back five minutes after then, he left because listened to me phoning police.

"[The] first time when he came he started hitting my door in the same style, I jumped out from my bed and ran to the door.

"I asked 'who are you?' He only commanded me 'Open the door.'

"He repeated and was banging the door so hard.

"When he realised I will not open he started to shout 'you cheeky b****!'

"I told him to leave or I would call the police. He did not care so I phoned police that probably he overheard, so he left.

"After five minutes he came back then we didn't talk I only made this video and tried to contact police as fast as possible because I wanted them to listen to it."

The filmer later added: "I did not know the man before, but he is one of my neighbours.

"Now we know it because I put his picture on the house’s door and somebody recognised him.

"I hope he will be punished because at that time in my flat I was alone with my 7-year-old son.

"Our shock was huge of course. And maybe he can explain, why?"
