On 09/11/2018 at about 6:00 p.m., San Bernardino County Fire responded to reports of a commercial structure fire at the intersection of Baseline Street and D Street.

Arriving crews located a large building and several outhouses fully involved in fire.

Due to the severity of the incident and the danger to adjacent structures, the response was elevated to a second alarm.

Firefighters initially went defensive on the fire because the main building being constructed with non reinforced masonry constituted a life threat for crews to battle the fire from the inside of the structure.

Crews were on scene for several hours after knockdown for extensive overhaul and mop up operations.

The building used to be an old Bank of America that was closed down for some time. The cause of the fire is unknown and under investigation.
