In a shocking case of moral policing, a woman was forced to carry her husband on her shoulders for marrying outside her caste in central India. The incident came to light after a video of the same emerged on social media.

The heinous incident took place on Apr. 13 in Jhabua town of the same district in Madhya Pradesh state.

Visuals showed pillagers parading the woman as she is seen carrying a man on her shoulders. What was even more appalling was villagers revelling at the expense of the distressed victim. One youth was also filmed waving a makeshift flag, made form a shirt folded and placed on a stick, as they made taunting noises at the woman

Meanwhile, two people have been arrested since.

District Superintendent of Police Vineet Jain said police rushed to the spot after getting information about the incident and arrested two persons. He said the others will be nabbed soon.

The woman was identified as 20-year-old from the tribal community.
