Good Samaritans rescue horse from swamp in northern India

A horse had a lucky escape after it fell into a swamp in northern India. The incident took place on Apr. 9 near Risia Bazar town in Bharaich district of Uttar Pradesh state.

Visuals showed locals pulling out a golden-brown horse from the swamp.

It is not known how the animal ended up there, but is believed it tripped over and fell down.

Locals orchestrated the rescue after hearing the horse wail in pain.

The video has gained traction on social media with users appreciating the locals for helping the distressed animal.

Reports said the horse did not suffer any injury and was set free after the rescue.
