Visitors to Kruger National Park in South Africa got a scare recently when a wild elephant suddenly charged their vehicle.

The filmer and his partner had stopped their car on Friday morning to watch the elephant browsing on a tree when without warning it suddenly ran towards them.

The filmer quickly put the car into reverse and sped away as best he could on a wet, slippery gravel road.

Fortunately, the elephant halted its charge and the pair escaped unharmed.

"We both sat in silence as the Elephant moved off, knowing how lucky we were to survive this," the filmer said.

"This Elephant was feeding next to the road and suddenly decided to charge the vehicle closest to him.
It had been raining so the narrow gravel road was extremely slippery which made reversing a difficult task. Especially with a 5 ton Elephant charging at you !
When I decided to stop filming(but the camera still rolling) and look behind me(as I'm trying to stay on the road while reversing), the Elephant stopped.
Fortunately there were no cars behind us.
Luckily my partner kept filming with my second camera. We both sat in silence as the Elephant moved off, knowing how lucky we were to survive this." - Video Contributor
