Cops pull out girl alive after she falls inside ditch in northern India

A 3-year-old girl was lucky to survive death as she was pulled out after the child fell inside a ditch dug for a borewell in northern India. The incident took place on Apr. 16 in Banda district of Uttar Pradesh state.

Visuals captured the operation carried out by the state police. It showed rescuers trying to pull out the girl and when they failed to do so, they dug the area to widen the hole.

After hours, the girl was finally rescued alive.

As soon as a policeman carried her out, people, who had gathered in numbers to see the operation, cheered in joy.

She was handed over to another cop and they carried her to a mobile paramedic van kept at a distance. Later, they took her to a hospital.

Fortunately, the girl did not suffer any injuries.

Reports identified the girl as Pushpa, a resident of Pachokar village of the aforementioned district.
