A seven-foot-long king cobra caused severe traffic disruption on a busy road in southern India.

Footage captured today (April 19) shows the venomous reptile laying on the pavement in the middle of the road as vehicles pass by in Chennai city, Tamil Nadu.

Forest department officials rushed to the spot and removed the snake from the road.

The reptile was released on the side of the road and escaped through a tiny hole in the ground.

In Chennai Madhavaram area, a Cobra was dancing and standing erect in the middle of the Chennai Kolkata Highways Road. In Moolakkadai kanakanchoultry Road junction near the Petrol bunk a 7 feet long Cobra came in the middle road and erected its head towards upside and was dancing. When the vehicles crossed near the snake, the cobra was not feared and erected in the same position. Most People's prevailed tensioned. But some people's were worshipped and lightened camphor. In between this incident the traffic was severely affected. To manage this situation traffic police were arrived the spot and they informed to the Forest Department. Till that no body came forward to catch the Snake. After one hour the Snake was slowly moved from the middle road to the nearby small hole and vanished.
