A Tesla Model S exploded while parked at a garage in Shanghai, seemingly for no reason, burning other cars nearby.
In the clip, shot on April 21, 8:15pm in Xuhui District of Shanghai, a Tesla Model S emits smoke from its undercarriage and then explodes spontaneously, going up in flames and destroying the other three cars nearby.
Fire fighters called to the scene couldn’t enter the garage due to the pungent gas from the burning vehicle, and were only able to flush water into the garage.
No casualties were reported. Tesla has sent a team to investigate the incident. It is unclear what caused the explosion.
