Lion calling out for his coalition partner after a fight in Maasai Mara
This is a video shot by our driver Jonathan Sayaniel who is a local Maasai. It is of two younger males called Maridadi & Kaka who fought with an older more experienced male called Ololparpit. They fight for territory and the pride. Ololparpit survived the attack but is in bad shape. If he had lost the battle, Maridadi and Kaka would have almost certainly killed the young cubs in the pride to bring the females back in heat for mating. Ololpaprit in Maa (Maasai language) means 'the one with a big black hair'. This particular video is of Ololparpit calling out for his coalition partner Obarnoti after the fight,
