Dramatic CCTV footage has emerged from China of a cashier at a petrol station remaining remarkably cool during an armed robbery in Guangdong Province.

The shop worker can be seen attending to paper work when the robber bursts through the door and waves a large kitchen knife in his face before helping himself to the contents of the till.

According to local reports the 18-year-old suspected robber took 700 yuan cash (114 USD) from the register and a mobile phone worth approximately 1,000 yuan (162 USD) before escaping within just thirty seconds.

According to the police the suspect worked for the station before deciding to rob them after being forced to pay a 1,000 yuan debt.

He is currently under arrest pending legal proceedings.
