Bungling crook sparks police motorcycle chase but hits and curb and goes head over handlebars
This is the hilarious moment a bungling motorcyclist sparked a police chase - only to go head over handlebars when he hit a curb.
Two officers were patrolling when they noticed the young biker who was not wearing his helmet and tried to stop him from riding on the road Songkhla, southern Thailand.
But he refused their command and accelerated away on his motorbike, trying to escape. The police immediately followed him as they thought he also looked suspicious.
Helmet cam footage from Monday (22/04) afternoon shows how the motorcyclist jumped a red light and cut in front of several cars at junctions before quickly turning down narrow streets.
As the police were getting closer, the anxious rider continued faster though he was not familiar with the local area.
The chase eventually ended when the suspect tried to cross onto a grass bank. He didn’t notice the concrete curb and went flying head over handlebars as he flipped into the bushes.
Police immediately caught him and searched his body. They later found some drugs in his pocket, which explained the reason for his risky attempt to escape.
The motorcyclist, who was unhurt in the crash, was taken to the police station and charged for not wearing a helmet and drug possession.
A police spokesman said: ‘’He obviously looked like he was up to something when we first saw him driving slowly near the footpath, so we decided to follow him.
‘’I feel sorry that he had the accident, but without it I didn’t think we could have caught him.’’
