The quick reactions of a UK truck driver prevented a certain tragedy when a woman unexpectedly ran into the road in South West London.

Driver Craig Lindop from Hayling Island was making his way down Fulham Palace Road in London on March 1 when the woman suddenly ran out in front of him.

Lindop slammed on the brakes of his 40-tonne car transporter and somehow came to a halt without hitting the unidentified woman.

According to Lindop, she was later taken away in an ambulance, although she was unharmed physically.

Social media users were impressed by Lindop's fast reflexes.

I was driving a 40ton car transporter but it was unladen at the time. I was doing about 30 mph at the time. I am from Hayling Island in Hants and have have been driving lorries since I was 18 so 22 years and 7 of them years was as a heavy recovery driver in London towing from buses to artics and doing a lot of fatal RTCs for the met you develop a sixth sense and I could tell there was something not right about her and her body language was off. An ambulance took her away.
