A dramatic video has emerged of a car crashing at high speed during a cross-country motor race in South Africa.

The video, captured from inside the car at the Atlas Copco 450 race in Westonaria late last month, shows the Nissan Navara flipping forward after hitting a ditch in the road.

The vehicle, which was travelling at 145 km per hour, sails through the air for almost 100 metres before eventually coming to a stop.

Luckily, driver Terence Marsh and navigator Mike Lawrenson were able to escape from the accident without any serious injuries.
