A man miraculously survived after falling onto the tracks at a subway station in New York City.

The incident happened on April 28 on Incident happened on Downtown Q train tracks at around 6:30pm.

Footage shows emergency services rescuing the man and carrying him out of the station on a stretcher.

A commuter who found the wounded man on the tracks said: ‘’The driver of the train said that a train ahead had put on its emergency brakes, so I peeped down to see the train ahead."

"Then I saw suddenly that there was a man on the tracks and I immediately informed the driver and that's when she notified the emergency services."

The man was immediately rushed to New York-Presbyterian hospital and is expected to recover.
