Summer Rains and the gusting wind uprooted many trees in koonthankulam bird sanctuary which led to the death of many birds that was just hatched from the egg.. Koonthankulam bird sanctuary is located in Nellai district of Tamilnadu. Many birds migrate to this sanctuary from various foreign countries and they lay eggs and fly away again to their countries with the hatchings. This attracts a large number of tourists to this area. The mother birds lay eggs in the trees located on the sanctuary and hatch them in the month of January to august. Same like this year the birds laid the eggs but unfortunately the gusting speed of the wind uprooted many trees and mother birds managed to  fly away but the hatchings were the crushed when the trees fell down. Nearly 100 were feared dead and the rest were treated in the vetneary hospital. This unfortunate event left all the villages in a big sorrow.
