Volunteers in Toronto prepare aid for Ottawa flood victims
The Global Medic rapid response team in Toronto have prepared emergency aid packages for victims of severe flooding in Ottawa.
In footage filmed yesterday (May 1) volunteers can be seen packing family emergency kits that will be distributed in Ottawa and neighbouring Gatineau.
The aid consists of "a water purification solution as well as hygiene supplies such as soap, toothbrushes and toothpaste."
Water levels in the Ottawa river and risen and caused harsh flooding in and around the area.
