A 13th Century church was invaded by 50,000 bees, who lived under the eaves for so long they caused the roof to buckle - with their eight foot tall hive.

Bees spent so long living in the historic church they caused a bulge above the pulpit - and made honey to drip down the walls. Reverend Stephen Hayes, 61, joined the parish in Piddington, Oxfordshire, three years ago but had no idea he was also taking on a eight foot tall colony of wild honey bees which first made the church their home 20-years-ago.
