Severe weather causes flash floods in Houston, Texas
A round of strong storms is moving through southeast Texas on Friday (May 3), prompting severe weather and tornado warnings around the area.
In the video shot in the North Houston area of 1960 and Wells Fargo Dr., Texas, we can see cars driving through high waters as well as heavy wind and rain battling the area. We can even see a man walking half naked through flood waters to get back to his apartment.
The filmer told Newsflare that "a tornado producing cell pounded the city causing flooding and power outages. Heavy rains and deafening winds tore down branches and clean swept the region for an hour."
There has been at least one confirmed tornado west of the city, according to authorities.
Rain chances will rise through Saturday morning but the atmosphere will then dry out Saturday afternoon and Sunday.
