A video has emerged of a deer being rescued from Inside a deep water tank in southern India.

The incident took place on May 7 in Kuttalam town. located in Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu state.

Visuals showed a male deer stuck inside the tank, looking for a way out.

A group of forest officers were seen lowering a rope. They managed to lasso the rope and tie one horn of the deer. A man was seen lowering himself inside the tank.

Later, he tied another rope to the deer's lower belly region. This was followed by the other men pulling out the deer from inside the deep tank.

As soon as the deer was out, the officials untied the ropes and moved away, to avoid getting injured. The deer too wasted no time and ran towards the forest.

It is not clear how the deer ended up there, but officials specualted the animal fell down at night after going past the boundary wall.
