Chinese tourists in Thailand dazzle in matching elephant suits
Chinese tourists gather together while wearing matching elephant pattern costumes on their holiday to Thailand.
The colourful cotton garments, adorned with images of the country’s national animal, have become a popular souvenir for many tourists from China when they visit their neighbour in South East Asia.
Groups of holidaymakers have been seen around Bangkok on a number of occasions in the matching sets of clothes.
In the latest instance, the lads were happy to wave for the camera while displaying their matching suits.
Chinese tourists are the biggest group of visitors to Thailand, accounting for 10 million arrivals in 2018 - more than half the whole total compared with other nationalities.
In the first two months of 2019, the total number of Chinese tourist arrivals was 2.12 million. Foreign tourist receipts account for around 12 percent of Thailand's gross domestic product.
