Vietnamese public take part in bamboo dancing in the streets of Hanoi

Bamboo dance – This dance originates from the Northwest highlands of Vietnam, where it was performed to celebrate special events like Tet.

Sap dance (Bamboo dance) is also unique folk dance. Dance props needed for Bamboo dance must have two big bamboo, straight and long is Sap primary. Besides, has many pairs of Sap small (diameter: 3 - 4cm; long: 3-4m). When dancing, people put the two bamboos apart. They are placed in parallel, equally spaced about 20 cm forming the orchestra Sap. People hold two sticks of bamboo and clap them together in a 4/4 rhythm while other people dance in and out of the sticks. Usually four to six people hold two sticks of bamboo each and clap in a 4/4 rhythm while another 8 dance in and out of the sticks.
