A woman who was evacuated from her flat last night (15 May), during a huge fire in the pub below - has told Newsflare “it was very scary”.

Magdalena is just one of many residents who spent the night sleeping rough on Caledonian Road in Islington.

According to London Fire Brigade around 30 people were told to leave their homes, but not everyone was given accommodation straight away.

Specialist officers have started an investigation after last nights inferno, leaving the bar totally destroyed.

It took firefighters around 5 hours to bring flames under control, as they worked tirelessly through the night.

No causalities have so far been reported.

This is the second significant fire in the capital within 24 hours.
