Menhir in district 50 kota , West Sumatra are scattered everywhere. some were scattered in the field, some were on the side of the road, in the office yard. some are made into stairs to coffee shops. some were buried under the soccer field, some were buried under the market grounds.
there is an effort to place it in one place. unfortunately the laying was no longer in line with the initial stand. there are even functions that are not clear.
Menhirs are mostly stones of worship of ancestral spirits. because the location is misplaced and the function has changed.
not many people care about the presence of menhirs. in a high-level village there is only one person who is able to explain about the menhir. metriszal. and even then only know the position of menhirs in this village.
interview 1 metrizal, 45 years old
when this market was built many menhirs were forced to be stockpiled. this is because there is no land to hold it.
interview 2 ipel, 40 years old
