Britain's oldest BMX rider has qualified for the world championships aged 53 - just four years after she started riding to keep her son company.

Lesley Reynolds took up the hobby so she could bond with her son Jacob. They would spend their weekends building bikes together and travelling to specialist courses.

The rider didn't let her age stop her - even when she broke a bone in her hand. She has now qualified for the 2019 BMX Racing World Championships - even though Jacob, now 14, didn't.

The BMX rider was filmed speaking with her son on Monday, May 20.
