Fun Fierce Freely Flowing Fog Under a Full Moon at Palomar Mountain.

I spent about 79 minutes shooting this fog timelapse sequence from atop Palomar Mountain on the night of May 18, 2019. This video was compiled from 947 frames. Each frame was 4 sec f/5.6 ISO 800 and shot with a Canon 6D and Canon 17-40mm f/4L lens. Interval, exposure time, and frame rate are constant throughout this video, but mother nature speeded up the cloud movement towards the end. Background music provided by Don Meyer.

Palomar Mountain (Spanish: Monte Palomar) is a mountain ridge in the Peninsular Ranges in northern San Diego County. It is famous as the location of the Palomar Observatory and Hale Telescope, and known for the Palomar Mountain State Park.

"Palomar" is Spanish for "Dovecote" or "pigeon roost". This comes from the Spanish colonial era in Alta California when Palomar Mountain was known as the home of band-tailed pigeons.
