Greek police arrested protesters who allegedly tried to enter a cordoned area in Thessaloniki where Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras was giving a speech.

Footage shows police officers arresting protesters and taking them inside a van on May 22.

Police in riot gear can be seen pushing back a crowd of protesters holding a banner later in the footage.

Hundreds of protesters had gathered earlier in the capital city to demonstrate against Macedonia Name Deal, ratified in January this year.

The deal means the change of the name of Greece's northern neighbor to the Republic of North Macedonia, ending a decades-old name dispute.
