Hero neighbour catches king cobra with his bare hands
A skilful passersby caught a king cobra with bare hands inside a man’s house while he was waiting for the rescuers.
House owner Jong called Pitak Pracha Rescue Foundation after a king cobra slithered into his house looking for food in Krabi, southern Thailand on May 17.
But while he was waiting for the rescuers, two neighbours came along and offered to catch the wild snake which was seen coiling under the refrigerator.
Quick-thinking volunteer Panya Tulayasook, who is also a snake farm owner, grabbed a metal rod to poke the king cobra.
The snake shortly appeared afterwards. Then, the experienced snake catcher hooked its head with the rod before easily holding it up with his bare hands while his foreign friend helped to catch its tail.
Jong and villagers nearby were surprised that they only spent five minutes to catch the king cobra. They were very thankful for the heroic neighbour.
The house owner said: “I was very glad when they said that they could help me. My family and I would still be panic if they didn’t come and handle the situation.”
The rescue officers arrived at the scene a few minutes later and put the snake into a bag before it was released into the wild.
