This is the dramatic moment an 85-year-old woman was saved after she fell into a 60-foot well in southern India.

Tangevva Gadyala had gone to cut grass for her cows in Kalakavatagi Village near Vijayapura on May 22 when she slipped and fell into an open well.

Some farmers saw her falling and rushed to save her.

They immediately lowered a cot made of bamboo, which was nearby and Gadyala managed to get on to it.

The rescuers then hauled her to safety.

Eyewitnesses said that she was saved from certain death by the factt that the well had eight-feet of water in it.

The incident took place at Kalakavatagi village near Vijayapura in southern India.

They immediately lowered a cot made of bamboo, which was nearby and Tangevva managed to get on to it.

They pulled it up and grabbed her as she came up.

Eyewitnesses said the well had water up to eight-feet and that cushioned Tangevva’s fall and saved her.
