A man suspected of being involved in a downtown Los Angeles double-shooting on May 27 was arrested after a deadly shootout in the early hours of May 28.

The suspect led officers on a pursuit through downtown L.A., into South L.A. and onto the 105 Freeway then north on the 405 before exiting at Culver City and careening into the Del Ray area. The pursuit ended with the suspect allegedly smashing into a parked vehicle before breaking into a home where a family was sleeping.

The suspect was then arrested following a more than five-hour standoff.

The suspect is reported to have been apprehended at around 6 a.m. on May 28 after LAPD SWAT fired tear gas into the Del Rey home where the suspect had been barricaded inside.

A man suspected of being involved in a downtown Los Angeles double-shooting late Monday night — and then leading officers on a pursuit to Del Rey before crashing his car and breaking into a home where a family was asleep inside — was arrested Tuesday morning following a more than five-hour standoff.

The suspect was apprehended at around 6 a.m. after LAPD SWAT fired tear gas into the Del Rey home where he was barricaded inside. He surrendered peacefully.
