This is the moment a doctor in Vietnam removed a live leech from a woman's nostril.

The woman arrived at a hospital in north-central Nghe An Province complaining of a stuffy nose.

Upon exploration, the doctor found the worm-like parasite inside the woman’s nostril.

Footage shows the doctor skillfully removing the leech, which measured 10cm in length, with a pair of tweezers on May 15.

Once out of the man’s nostril, the leech then writhes about in the grip of the surgical instrument.

Doctors believe that the woman, who lives in a mountainous area, may have come into contact with the creature while drinking water from a stream.

According to the doctor, Dr. Nam said that The woman came to the hospital and said that her nose was sore and this condition lasted more than one week.
The doctor checked and suddenly spotted a giant leech living in the woman's nose. It is quite large and is moving in a woman's nasal cavity.
Soon the doctor used an endoscope to pick up the giant leech from the woman's nose. The leech has sucked a lot of woman's blood. It is very big and about 10cm long.
The woman lives in the mountainous area of Nghe An Province. She often drinks water from mountain streams. Maybe the leech got into her nose after she drank water.
Thankfully the leech has not entered the deep area of the nose. If the woman does not go to the hospital, the leech will attack deep inside and endanger her.
The doctor advised her to limit drinking spring water and only use boiled water.
