Interesting video captured a water fountain in northern China being controlled by tourists' voice volume.

The clip, shot in Yangquan City in Shanxi Province on May 1, shows a woman shouting loudly into a box at the side of a river. Then the water can be seen spraying up into the air gradually with her voice volume.

The fountain is called Shout Fountain, which is located at Cangshan Scenic Area.

Due to the pressure of the groundwater as well as the infiltration and syphonage of the pores between the rocks and soil, the water sprays out to form a fountain.

藏山风景区，坐落于太行山西麓，山西阳泉市盂县城以北约20公里处的长池镇，因春秋时期藏匿赵氏孤儿得名。

喊泉是一种地下水的毛细现象。这类泉多分布于石灰岩、白云岩地区的岩溶间、地下河与岩溶潭星罗棋布的地带。岩层和土层中有一种脉状孔隙，当孔隙”管”的下端与地下水面接触后，由于地下水本身的压力和孔隙”管”的浸润与虹吸作用，地下水便会沿着孔隙“管”上升而溢出成泉。
如果受到外界的振动，孔隙“管”便会产生一种回应力，将岩层附近的水吸回去。只有待振动声响停止一定时间之后，孔隙“管”的浸润与虹吸功能才会恢复原状，这便是含羞泉“含羞”的秘密。
