The locals of a village in Numaligarh of Golaghat district joined hands to rescue an elephant calf.
A baby elephant fell into a ditch and got stuck in the mud. The panicky calf was seen struggling to get out of the sludge. The locals used bare hands and spades to dig the mud around the elephant. After toiling for two long hours, the locals successfully managed to rescue the baby elephant on June 1st, 2019.
The calf fell into the ditch of a tea garden near the Deopahar area and was separated from its herd which came out in search of food during the night of May 31st, 2019. The calf is now being treated under the supervision of the Centre for Wildlife Rehabilitation And Conservation.
The Incident happened on 01 June in Golaghat District Assam India.
