This bungling motorist sparked a police hunt after he was filmed driving - while sitting in the passenger seat.

The man in the video, who was later identified as Miko Lopez, can be holding the wheel while relaxing with a milkshake in the front passenger seat.

He repeatedly removes his hand from the steering while the car is moving - using only his left foot to control the accelerator.

Video of the bizarre stunt was handed to the authorities in Manila, Philippines, where they began an appeal to trace the reckless driver.

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said in a statement that the motorists would face charges for reckless driving.

Officials had tried to find Lopez but he had gone into hiding.

The statement said: ‘’The man has already been identified and his address was already determined. LTO will charge him for reckless driving, illegal modification (removing the steering wheel), not wearing a seatbelt, and being an improper person to operate a motor vehicle.

‘’His license will be revoked, and he will also be disqualified from applying for a driver's license again in the future.’’
