++CLIENTS PLEASE NOTE: THIS VIDEO HAS BEEN LOOPED++ A Thai woman had a miraculous escape from the clutches of a python after neighbours heard her being choked - then cut off its head.

Factory worker Anifah Othman, 47, was getting ready for bed when she took out the rubbish at her home in Mukim Bakai, Malaysia, on May 25 at 11pm.

While she was in the front garden, a 20ft long reptile from a nearby swamp pounced on her and wrapped itself around the single mother.

Anifah had a 30-minute-long struggle with the reticulated put-on before her sons Mohd Rasul Abdullah, 16, and Mohd Aziz, 15, heard her screams for help and came rushing outside.

The lads battled to pull the killer snake away but without success as it tightened its grip on the middle-aged woman.

They yelled neighbours who arrived and bludgeoned the snake with sticks before cutting off its head with a long knife called a ‘parang’.

Anifah was taken to the hospital to be treated for snake bites on her legs, necks and arms after the near-death experience with the reticulated python.

She had no life-threatening injuries but the woman was wounded and traumatised because of what happened.

Mohd Rasul said: ''I want to say a big thanks to the neighbours who came to help and kill the python. They saved my mother.

''My mother is still traumatised. She looks weak.''

Neighbour Zulhamidi Abdul Halim, 16, said he saw Anifah ''bleeding from her neck and one of her legs''.

He added: ''I was told of the incident by a friend and rushed to the house to check on the victim.''

The family buried the snake near their house in Baling, Malaysia.

Rescue officials said they received an emergency call at 11.30pm an d arrived at the scene 40 minutes later.
