Watch: Dramatic landslide hits northern India, blocks road for 48 hours

This is the scary moment a landslide hit northern India's Himachal Pradesh state. The incident took place on June 6 in Luhri-Anni section of national Highway 305 in the state's Kullu district.

Visuals showed dust rising from the hills as rocks began to crumble. Large masses of loose rocks began to gravitate downwards as the surrounding area was filled with dust.

The rocks rolled down to a nearby lake, as horrified locals watched from afar.

Reports said the incident has prevented traffic moment in the area. Taking cognizance of the calamity, National Highway authorities have ordered a stoppage of traffic flow through the area for two days.

Owing to its geographical location, the area is prone to such occurrence.
