This is the sickening moment a doctor in Vietnam removed a 12-cm leech from a woman’s nose.

The woman arrived at the clinic in Nghe An province claiming to have an ‘animal’ inside her nose.

Upon further exploration, the doctor found the blood-sucking creature attached to the walls of the woman’s nose.

Footage captured on June 6 shows the doctor pulling out the blood-sucking creature out of the woman’s right nostril using a pair of tweezers.

According to Dr. Nam, this is the second time in a month that he found leeches inside the noses of his patients. ''These patients all use stream water to bathe or drink and that is where they come in contact with leeches,'' he said.

The doctor advised the woman to use boiled water only and limit bathing in rivers or streams.

According to the doctor, Dr. Nam said that The woman came to the hospital and said there was an animal in her nose. The animal got into her nose when she was bathing in the stream in the mountain.
The doctor used an endoscopic device to check and detect a leech moving in the woman's nasal cavity. The leech is clinging to the side of the woman's nose and sucking on her blood.
The doctor quickly took the leech out. It is quite large and about 12 cm long. Fortunately, it has not penetrated deep inside the woman's nose.
Dr. Nam said that this is the second time in a month that he discovered leeches in the patient's nose. These patients all use stream water to bathe or drink. This is the reason why leeches appear in their noses.
The doctor advised her to only use boiled water and limit bathing in rivers or streams.
