Q: Why did the fish cross the road? A: To get to the other pond
A remarkable video has emerged from Thailand of a plucky little fish successfully crossing a road.
The unusual video shows the tiny perch taking advantage of rain today (June 9) in a rural area close to Bangkok to flip up onto the tarmac.
The intrepid creature then crawls across the road all the way to the other side where there is another pond.
"This is a fish called a common climbing perch. He had a long struggle before he could get up onto the road, but he was very persistent and never gave up until he reached his goal," said the filmer.
"I hope that he found his way ok to the nearby pond and that he will be happy there."
Climbing perch, also called walking fish, are noted for its ability to live and walk about on land.
