A two-day-old piglet born with a conjoined twin is battling to survive after her brother died a few hours after birth.

Farmer Suan Wethsantia was amazed after the conjoined twin pigs were born on the farm in Sisaket, northeastern Thailand on June 9.

The piglets - one male and one female - were born joined at the stomach with four legs, two heads, two ears, and two eyes.

The farmer fed them separately from the others in the litter as they were unable to run for milk from the mother.

Tragically, the weaker of the piglets, the male, was found dead on June 10.

The stronger one female is now battling to survive while being kept under the close observation by the owner, who has been bottle feeding it and keeping it wrapped up every night in blankets.

Suan continued to feed the living piglet from a baby bottle even though her neighbours said that it was not expected to survive for long because it was very difficult to eat and move.

Suan said: “I’ve been raising pigs for more than 20 years and this is the first time I've seen something like this.

“It was sad that one of them didn’t make it but I’ll do my best to take care of another. I also put it closer to the mother. Hopefully, hearing her noise will encourage the baby to survive.”
