This is the heartbreaking moment a newborn baby boy was rescued after being abandoned in a bush near a factory.

The fragile infant was heard crying by a resident walking along the street in Bangkok, Thailand last Sunday (09/06) morning.

She sifted through the area and found the baby boy wrapped in a black plaid shirt on the ground next to the clothing factory in Krathum Baen district.

The tot - estimated to be two days old - did not appear to have any wounds but his body was cold, suggesting that he had been dumped overnight.

Volunteers of Por Tek Tueng Foundation arrived at the scene and took the baby to Vichaivej hospital, where he has been recovering ever since.

Meanwhile, officers from Krathum Baen Police Station began the investigation and questioned residents but none of them saw the person who left the baby.

A spokesman said: “We’re checking the CCTV cameras around the street to find the mother. She has to be responsible for the baby and she will face legal proceedings.”
