A wild deer was spotted looking for food among plastic garbage outside a hotel close to Ranthambore National park in northern India.

Footage shows the deer sniffing plastics scattered on the ground in Prempura, Rajasthan state and eating the leftovers on June 16.

The Forest department has ordered hotels to stop dumping trash in order to avoid causing any harm to wild animals in the area.

A wild deer has developed a liking for food leftovers, which are wrapped in plastic and thrown in a garbage dump.

It frequently emerges out of the Ranthambore National park in northern India and heads to a garbage dump near Hotel Vinayak owned by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation to find food.

Sources in forest department said a notice has been served to hotels in the area to stop dumping trash in the open as they were harming the wild animals.
