Police have started a murder investigation after a man was found dead in a flat in Falkirk in Scotland.

Paramedics and police raced to the scene, near Falkirk Stadium, just after 11pm on Friday 21 June.

Another man was injured and taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital to be treated, but has since been released.

Locals say police forensic officers in protective suits have been in and out of the flat all day.

One local woman said: “It was just after 11pm last night, I heard loads of cars and doors closing and then I heard a sliding door, it sounded like a van door.”

“I looked out and all I could see was police cars. They were everywhere and then about an hour later cops chapped my door and asked if I had heard anything. They wouldn’t tell me what was going on.”

A 37-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident.
