A group of devotees were seen lying down on the floor in order to seek blessing from a sacred bull at a temple in Chennai in Tamil Nadu southern India.

The devotees felt that if the bull keeps its leg on them, it would heal them of their disease and problems in their life.

The devotees are seen coming forward one by one and lying down as the beast keeps one of its front legs on the back of the devotee to bless them on 13th March this year.

The men and women are seen lined up with folded hands and wait for their turn to get the blessing from the holy bull.

The procedure starts with the man or the woman bending down and touching its feet, the person then is seen lying down.
As soon as the person lies down, the bull keeps one of its legs on the devotee and then retreats.

The devotee gets up with folded hands and feels that the person is blessed by the sacred animal.

A bull is considered as sacred in Hinduism and is believed to be the avatar of Nandi (The bull favourite to Hindu God Shiva)
