At the start of April 2013, Rachel Cooper and Rob Tew will begin their clockwise circumnavigation of Great Britain by kayak. They will start in Brixham, Devon and arrive back in Brixham between 4 and 5 months later. They plan to paddle 30 miles a day, travelling unsupported, carrying kit and supplies in their boats. The trip will see them paddle around the hugely changeable coast line of Great Britain, where they'll encounter open water crossings, a range of wildlife, fast tidal races, surf and whatever the great British weather will throw at them. They will be wild camping most nights and their diet will be supplemented with freshly caught fish and other wild food.

Why are we doing this?
We are raising money in aid of two charities. SWAN UK (Syndromes Without A Name), a charity which offers support and information to families of children with undiagnosed genetic conditions and Macmillan Cancer Support. Please have a look at our charity page to find out more and how to donate. Both of these charities have helped family and close friends.

We are looking forward to the challenge of kayaking 2300 miles around the coastline of this island we live on, meeting friends, family and new friends on our journey. Please get in contact if you have a question or would like to help in any way.

Cheers

Rach and Rob
