A gruesome surgery performed at a clinic in north Vietnam removed a 3cm piece of glass that was trapped in a man's forehead for two months.

Video captured on April 27 in Ha Nam Province, shows the moment the doctor removed the glass shard stuck in the forehead of the man.

According to the doctor, Dr. Tuan, the man came to his clinic claiming that he felt pain in his forehead. The pain had persisted for two months prior and recently became severe. After checking the doctor discovered the man's forehead had a hard object deep inside.

The man said that he fell down the road after colliding with a car and since then his forehead had been hurting.

The doctor performed surgery and was surprised when taking out from the man's forehead a large piece of glass about 3cm long.

The glass may have stabbed into the man's forehead after he collided with the car. However, it remained in the man's forehead for quite a long time without the man being able to feel it except as the ache.

The man said he thought it was just a normal headache until the doctor took out the glass, he was surprised. The glass was quite sharp, it had pierced through the man's flesh.

Fortunately, it has not damaged the nerves or any important blood vessels in the forehead. It was claimed that if the glass was left for a long time under the skin, it could have fragmented that would have endangered the man.
