Operators climbed to rescue people stranded on a ferris wheel that had crashed and tilted.

The accident happened on Sunday (June 30) at Wirabraja Field Night Market in Bukittinggi, Indonesia.

Footage shows the moment operators climbed to the tilted attraction to rescue passengers stuck in the carriages at a great height.

Children and women can be seen being taken down to safety in the video.

According to a witness, his family had boarded the Ferris wheel but were asked to exit it because the operator was managing the wheel in an unsafe way. "As the screams went louder, the operators increased the speed of the wheel," he said. 

The person in charge of the Ferris wheel, Rahmat, said the collapse happened when the axle of the wheel broke. "The broken axle made the pinwheel loose from its position, making the ferris wheel to collapse and tilt." 

No injuries were reported.

A ferris wheel accident happened again in Indonesia. The passenger in the carriage is stranded on the ride and needing to be saved.

Childrens and womens in the carriage shouted hysterically and cried as a ferris wheel suddenly collapsed and tilted.

Frantic ride operators and passenger family clambered across the wheels to to reach the stricken families.

Ahmad Luthfi Al-Fajri, 30 years old, a shocked bystanders filmed an evacuation process that showed children and women being taken them down to safety.

According to Fajri, a few minutes before the incident he and his family also boarded the ferris wheel, but then asked to be lowered because the operator controlled the wheel in an unsafe way.

The operator seemed to deliberately play with the Ferris wheel to make passengers scream. "The louder the scream of passengers, the operators are also increasingly playing around the wheel rotation," Fajri said.

The person in charge of the Ferris wheel Rahmat said the damage occurred as the axle of the wheel was broken when spinning. "The broken axle makes the pinwheel loose from its position, making the Ferris wheel collapse and tilt."

"There were no casualties, there were no injuries, but I must go to the police station to be examined and accountable for this incident, "Rahmat said.
