Javathu hills – A Butterfly paradise

Butterfly valley or a butterfly paradise can call it either way. More than 6 species of Butterflies can be seen near the Bheenman falls of Jawathu hills. The javathu hills is is located as an extension of the Eastern ghats that lies in the Thiruvannamalai District. Its is located 1100 meters above from the sea level.
Its said that the butterflies have arrived here for matting and breeding. The start of the south west Monsoon may be a failure in these hills but that didn’t stop these coloury feathered friends from dating.

Mesmerized sight of butterflies in Javaathu hills shows that the ecologists should focus on the rich ecology of the hills and must do a research on Butterflies. Male butterflies indulge themselves in mud puddling through which they can take the mineral and the needed salts and as butterflies shows the health of Ecosystem we can witness many mud puddling spots in the hills.

Fascinated by the natures vibrancy one can get lost in the Deep woods of the Javathu hills.
